Shaymin

Summary

Shaymin is a diminutive, white Pokémon resembling a hedgehog. In its Land Forme, it features green, grass-like fur on its back and a pink flower with two leaves on each side of its head, mirroring the Gracidea flower. Additional flowers bloom on its back when it feels at ease but vanish rapidly when it detects danger. With short legs and a plump underside, it stands as one of the shortest Grass-type Pokémon. It possesses the ability to instantly purify polluted areas, converting impurities in the air into a lush field of flowers. Shaymin absorbs the contaminated air, breaks it down into water and light within its body, and releases the purified energy in a violent burst, with power levels fluctuating based on the type of pollution absorbed. It can also communicate telepathically and sense the gratitude of others. Every season, Shaymin gathers in a flower field before migrating, a behavior known as Flower Carrying, as new fields grow wherever it lands. It is drawn to places filled with gratitude and typically resides in flower fields, using its ability to curl up and camouflage to avoid detection. It enjoys sweet food. Land Forme Shaymin has a shy personality and is easily frightened, often exhibiting a habit of scratching itself with its hind leg. Shaymin can shift between two forms: Land Forme and Sky Forme. In Sky Forme, it adopts a slender, canine-like appearance. Its back fur forms a mohawk, and it has a red flower petal on the left side of its neck that resembles a scarf or cape. It possesses flat, white wing-like ears, a small tuft of fur on the front of its neck, and a stumpy tail. The blooming of Gracidea flowers grants it the power of flight, triggering this transformation. It reverts to Land Forme at night or if frozen. Sky Forme Shaymin is courageous, energetic, and playful, spreading feelings of gratitude when it takes flight, and it has a deeper voice compared to its Land Forme counterpart.
