Summary
As Haruka’s younger sister, Akane initially viewed Takayuki and Mitsuki as elder siblings until she discovered their secret romantic involvement. Demonstrating deep devotion, she visited Haruka in the hospital every day, even while her sister remained in a coma, simply to provide companionship. Although Akane is a talented swimmer like Mitsuki, she struggles with feelings of inadequacy compared to her rival. Her intense animosity toward Mitsuki stems from a sense of personal betrayal, viewing Mitsuki as squandering her own athletic potential and dreams, alongside the betrayal of Haruka through her relationship with Takayuki. Ultimately, Akane overcomes these feelings, moves forward with her life, and achieves the status of a top swimmer in Japan.
