Summary
Dan served as Shizune's uncle, being the younger sibling of one of her parents. Following the tragic passing of his sister, he became a vocal proponent for assigning medical ninjas to every shinobi squad. Tsunade held a like-minded perspective, and this shared ideal led the two to begin a romantic relationship. During their time together, Dan confided in Tsunade about his aspiration to become Hokage, believing that holding such a position would allow him to better safeguard the villagers of Konoha. Tragically, Dan was mortally wounded during the Second Great Shinobi World War. Despite Tsunade’s desperate efforts to heal him, he ultimately succumbed to his injuries.
