Summary
Born on October 15, Shiki Toono is the protagonist of the Tsukihime series. He is a second-year high school student who is kind, honest, and slightly playful, though he suffers from anemia and fainting spells while striving to maintain a normal existence. Shiki possesses the Mystic Eyes of Death Perception (Chokushi no Magan), a ability he gained during childhood after surviving a near-death experience in a hospital. During his recovery, he escaped to nearby fields where he encountered the Magus Aozaki Aoko, whom he now calls Sensei. She gave him his signature glasses to seal his eyes' power and imparted lasting life lessons. Following this, he lived with the Arima family for eight years before being summoned back to the Toono Mansion by his sister Akiha, who assumed leadership of the family after their father’s death. On the day of his return, an episode of insanity led him to stalk and kill the Vampire Arcueid Brunestud. He fainted from the shock and awoke later that evening at the mansion, dismissing the event as a dream until Arcueid greeted him casually at school the next day, signaling that his life was about to change dramatically.
