Summary
Izanami rules over Yomi-no-Kuni, the realm of the dead where souls journey toward reincarnation. Her true form remains unseen, as she instead adopts the visage of an individual from her guest's memory; for Nanami, she assumes the appearances of Kayako and Ami. She is also the grandmother of Ookuninushi, a relationship defined by her frequent exasperation with his conduct.
