Summary
Joanne Harcourt is a second-year student at Weston College assigned to the Red House, a distinction based on his refined gentility. He formerly served as the Prefect's Fag for Edgar Redmond. Because most of the student body considers him a liar, Joanne suffers from low self-esteem. This has led him to adopt a reserved demeanor and reject the pursuit of popularity, insisting that his only skill is reading. Despite his fragile temperament, which causes him to weep easily when confronted with the pitiful situation created by other students' misunderstandings, he eventually regains his confidence after becoming Edgar Redmond's Fag. Generally, he maintains a friendly attitude toward those around him.
