Mibu, Kyoushirou

Mibu, Kyoushirou

Summary

Mibu Kyoushirou stands as the antithesis to the series’ protagonist, Demon Eyes Kyou. While appearing awkward and humorous at the start of the adventure, he is actually a terrifying warrior known as the "Demon-God," distinguished as the sole individual to have defeated Kyou. Kyoushirou possesses the unique ability to transfer human souls, a power he used to move Kyou’s soul into his own body while concealing Kyou’s original form. A high-ranking member of the Mibu clan, he is considered the greatest swordsman in the group’s history, mastering the Mumyou Jinpu Ryuu techniques. His combat prowess and potential place him on par with Kyou, ranking just below the former Crimson King. In the past, he wielded the Shibien, one of Muramasa’s Devil Swords, using it to kill countless people until the blade turned black from absorbing excessive blood. He was also responsible for the deaths of many, including Shiina Nozomu, the brother of Shiina Yuya. Kyoushirou is one of the Red Cross Knights, created from the flesh and blood of the former Aka no Ou. Though originally a killing machine, he developed a friendly heart, largely influenced by Sakuya. He harbors deep romantic feelings for Sakuya, shared with Kyou since before the Battle of Sekigahara, viewing Kyou as a dear friend who cares for them both. His affection extends to Yuya, whom he protects fiercely, even declaring he would not let Kyou have her. Sasuke observes this tender regard for Yuya in Chapter 234. Kyoushirou also mastered the Mumyo Jinpu Ryuu Satsujin Ken. At the conclusion of the manga, he is shown living with Sakuya while maintaining visits with Yuya and Kyou.
