Summary
Pisces Aphrodite is a Gold Saint affiliated with Athena and originally trained under Gemini Saga in Greenland. A Resurrected Saint who wears the Pisces Cloth and Pisces Surplice, he stands 1.83 meters tall, weighs 72 Kg, and has O blood type. Born on March 11 in Sweden, he is twenty-two years old and his astrological sign is Pisces. His combat repertoire includes the Royal Demon Rose, Piranhan Rose, and Bloody Rose. His status is listed as Destroyed. Introduced formally in volume 11 of Masami Kurumada’s manga, Aphrodite was the final Gold Saint revealed. He is renowned for his mesmerizing beauty and his reputation as one of the eighty-eight Saints. However, his strength is not fully demonstrated in the series, as he is defeated relatively easily by Andromeda Shun by Gold Saint standards and is also beaten by Aries Mu during the Hades Saga. Gemini Saga claimed Aphrodite possessed the greatest beauty among Athena’s Saints. Kurumada named him after the Greek Goddess of love and beauty, referencing the Pisces constellation myth. Unlike the Silver Saint Lizard Misty, who boasted that stars dimmed beside his glory, Aphrodite never claimed to be the most beautiful. Despite his looks, Aphrodite is not narcissistic. He is often described as cruel, similar to his fellow Gold Saint Cancer Deathmask, but less sadistic. He also displays an ironic and sarcastic demeanor. Saga stated that Aphrodite was the most feared of Athena’s Saints, a reputation likely stemming from his cruel nature rather than his fighting prowess. This fear is supported in the non-canonical Saint Seiya Episode G, where Titan soldiers were both awestruck by his beauty and paralyzed by fear in his presence. Aphrodite views victory as the greatest beauty. He believes his true beauty lies not in his physique but in absolute power, which he sees as the only way to maintain order and ensure justice. Adhering to this theory, he believes the strong are entitled to rule over the weak. Some casual fans mistakenly believe Aphrodite is female due to his name. In the French, European Spanish first dubbing, and Chinese dubbing of the anime adaptation, he is voiced by a female actress.
