Tonami, Takefumi
Summary
In his elementary school days, Takefumi was a chubby, frail, and pampered child who faced constant bullying. Although the tomboyish Tsubaki offered him some protection from other aggressors, she simultaneously harassed him herself. When he questioned her motives, she revealed that she was only looking out for him because a teacher had instructed her to do so. This admission devastated him, as he had mistakenly believed their bond was special. The realization that Tsubaki felt no genuine affection for him and was merely obeying an authority figure caused him profound humiliation, a feeling he had never experienced before.
