Kishitani, Shingen
Summary
Shingen Kishitani is a man of eccentric demeanor and serves as the father of Shinra. His behavior is sufficiently bizarre that he consistently wears a gas mask, justifying this choice by claiming that the air in Tokyo is excessively filthy. Additionally, he has a peculiar habit of spinning a pen in his right hand. His personality fluctuates from childish, often providing comic relief, to intimidating, particularly when interacting with Izaya and Namie. He is the individual who offered Celty a place to stay in exchange for her performing surgery on him, a deal she accepted. Furthermore, Shingen admits to forcing Shinra to participate in numerous dissections, believing this experience is the primary reason for Shinra’s twisted nature. He also asserts that his company, Nebula executives, holds an interest in Celty, which is the motivation behind his return to Japan from America.
