Morihiko Dan, born in 1936, serves as the founder and principal of Dan Detective School. As a renowned detective who has solved numerous cases, he holds the unique distinction of being the only private detective in Japan licensed to carry a firearm. His career was defined by his battle against Pluto, a formidable crime syndicate that he ultimately believed to be destroyed. However, this victory came at a severe personal cost, leaving him confined to a wheelchair for the remainder of his life. As signs emerged indicating that Pluto was being resurrected, the aging Dan recognized that his time was limited. To ensure justice would prevail, he established a special program known as Class Q, gathering a group of exceptionally gifted individuals. His goal was to train and analyze each student, with the intention of selecting the most capable among them to succeed him.
