Aisaka, Taiga
Summary
Taiga Aisaka is a student at Ohashi High School in Class 2-C. Although she possesses a well-regulated and beautiful appearance, she struggles with social interactions and often isolates herself. Her tendency to snap at others with brutal honesty, combined with her diminutive stature, has earned her the nickname "Palmtop Tiger." This moniker, along with her dissatisfaction with her figure, particularly in swimwear, fuels a complex that manifests as a negative attitude and a sharp demeanor. Despite being described as doll-like by Ryuuji, which attracts romantic confessions from boys, she consistently rejects them, including an initial rejection of Yuusaku Kitamura that she later comes to regret. Her difficult home life stems from her parents' divorce, after which she lived with her father. Tensions arose when he remarried a significantly younger woman, leading to misunderstandings with her stepmother. Overwhelmed by the conflict, Taiga ran away and now lives independently. Lacking domestic skills due to her privileged upbringing, she relies heavily on Ryuuji for household chores. Consequently, she spends most of her time at Ryuuji’s home, effectively becoming a member of his family outside of school and her own residence. Initially, Taiga is infatuated with Ryuuji’s best friend, Yuusaku Kitamura, becoming nervous in his presence. Ryuuji discovers this affection when he finds a misplaced love letter intended for Kitamura. In response, Ryuuji confesses his own feelings for Taiga’s best friend, Minori. This mutual revelation leads the two to form an alliance, agreeing to help each other pursue relationships with their respective friends.
