Rossi, Marchelo
Summary
Known simply as Rossi, Marchelo is the man who purchased Romeo from Luini, the so-called "God of Death." A heavy drinker, he was once easily manipulated by his selfish and domineering wife, Edda. However, he eventually found the courage to voice his own opinions and act according to his conscience. He went to great lengths to make Romeo’s life in Milan easier, leading Romeo to regard him as a second father. Rossi has a son named Anzelmo and a foster daughter, Angeletta, who is the granddaughter of Countess Isabella Montovani. Lady Isabella entrusted the infant Angeletta to Marchelo’s care until the countess was finally ready to accept her granddaughter.
