Summary
The Queen Mother serves as the matriarch of King Ei Sei and heads the Royal Harem faction. In her youth, she was celebrated as the "Jewel of Kantan" for her extraordinary beauty and was deeply in love with Ryo Fui, to whom she was engaged. Ryo Fui later gave her to Sei’s father, allowing her to become one of his many consorts, a move he made to secure future political advantages. She became a political hostage alongside Sei in the State of Zhao, where she gave birth to him. During their captivity, the pair endured severe hardship at the hands of the Zhao people, a trauma that caused the Queen Mother to harbor deep hatred for Sei, even leading her to attempt to murder him at one point. Following Sei’s successful escape from Zhao at the age of eight and his subsequent ascension to the throne of Qin, the Queen Mother was brought to the capital, where she assumed leadership of the Royal Harem.
