Toshi Kumakura serves as a supporting character in the manga Saki and its spin-off, Saki: Achiga-hen episode of side-A. A former scout for a professional mahjong team in Fukuoka, she works as a professional player herself. Several months before the main narrative begins, Toshi took on the role of consultant for the Miyamori Girls' High School mahjong team in Iwate Prefecture. Known for her sharp perception regarding the capabilities of other players, she played a pivotal role in recruiting Toyone Anetai to join the Miyamori squad.
