Born on January 25 under the Aquarius sign, Minato Namikaze was a male ninja of the Konohagakure blood type B. During Part II of the series, he was twenty-four years old, having stood 179.2 cm tall and weighed 66.1 kg in Part I. As the Yondaime Hokage, he is famously known for sealing the nine-tailed demon fox within Naruto Uzumaki at the time of the boy’s birth, an act that ultimately cost him his life. Before passing, Minato requested that the villagers view Naruto as a hero rather than the monster inside him, a plea that was unfortunately ignored. His surname translates literally to "Wave wind," while his given name means "Harbor" or "Port." Minato is regarded as one of the most talented ninja Konoha has ever seen, possessing skills unmatched in many years. He specialized in the Hiraishin no Jutsu, a teleportation technique originally created by the Second Hokage, Tobirama. By attaching a special seal to a kunai or an enemy, Minato could instantly teleport to the seal's location, allowing him to eliminate nearby foes with terrifying speed. This prowess earned him the title "Konoha's Yellow Flash" and made him so dangerous that a flee-on-sight order was issued against him during the Third Ninja War. He also invented the Rasengan, a devastating technique that concentrates spinning chakra in the palm without requiring hand seals. It was later revealed that the Rasengan was incomplete; Minato intended to enhance it with nature manipulation training to increase its power, but he was unable to do so before his death.
