Summary
Eva Heinemann serves as the fiancée of Doctor Tenma and the daughter of the Director of Eisler Memorial Hospital. Following her father’s demotion of Tenma for insubordination, Eva ends their engagement. After the Director is killed by Johan, she attempts to reconcile with Tenma, who has recently been promoted to Chief of Surgery following the vacancies created by the murder. However, Tenma rejects her overtures. Consequently, Eva descends into severe bitterness and alcoholism, becoming a three-time divorcee who funds her extravagant lifestyle through divorce settlements. After destroying her home in a drunken frenzy, she wanders across Germany and becomes entangled in the investigation surrounding the Monster. Although she does not personally believe Tenma was responsible for her father’s death, she derives a twisted satisfaction from the prospect of him suffering in prison as retribution for his rejection. She had previously handed incriminating evidence against Tenma to Inspector Lunge. Her dynamic with Tenma is defined by obsession, and she eventually emerges as a primary target for Roberto.
