Summary
In the Lost Canvas storyline, Dégel serves as the Gold Saint of Aquarius and holds the esteemed title of the wisest among Athena’s Saints within the Sanctuary. Possessing a unique ability to read and interpret the stars, he stands as the only individual, aside from the Great Pope, with such knowledge. His demeanor is consistently calm and polite, and he is distinct among the Saints for being the only one who wears glasses and maintaining his own personal library. Dégel’s initial appearance occurs when he questions Sisyphus regarding the Great Pope. At this point, he is already aware that Sage has passed away and identifies that the figure invading Hades Cathedral is actually Sage’s brother, Hakurei, who is disguising himself in the Pope’s attire.
