Chaos
Summary
Chaos is a primordial entity that was imprisoned within the Galaxy Cauldron, missing its chance to become a star. To achieve freedom, it projects incarnations through Sailor Moon’s greatest adversaries, including Queen Metaria, Death Phantom, Pharaoh 90, and Queen Nehellenia, before eventually possessing Sailor Galaxia to steal Sailor Crystals for galactic domination. Visually, it manifests as a colossal mass of black fourth-dimensional space. Although Sailor Moon ultimately forces it back into the Galaxy Cauldron, allowing the deceased to be reincarnated on their home planets and eras, it is implied that Chaos survives to return as Sailor Chaos, just as it did in Sailor Cosmos’s future timeline. According to Sailor Cosmos, Chaos will eventually emerge from the Galaxy Cauldron reborn as a formidable Sailor Senshi. Frustrated by the endless cycle of conflict with Sailor Chaos, Sailor Cosmos disguised herself as Chibichibi to travel back in time. Her goal was to persuade Sailor Moon to destroy the Galaxy Cauldron entirely, thereby preventing the emergence of Sailor Chaos and averting a new series of catastrophic wars. In the anime adaptation, the entity Chaos appears only briefly in episode 200, expelled from Sailor Galaxia following her defeat. Beyond this cameo, the entity remains unseen in the animated series. Sailor Galaxia reveals that she was the warrior who originally sealed Chaos within her body, an act that saved the galaxy. Chaos possesses Galaxia to grant her the power to combat Eternal Sailor Moon, the Kibou no Hikari. However, Usagi manages to reach the remnants of hope within Galaxia’s heart, causing her to expel Chaos and concluding the anime’s story arc.
