Tomokazu Seki Cast as Kunishige in Kagurabachi Anime

The television anime adaptation of Takeru Hokazono's popular Weekly Shonen Jump series Kagurabachi has added a major voice acting talent. Tomokazu Seki, whose decades of standout roles include everything from complex anti-heroes to commanding patriarchs, will voice Kunishige Rokuhira, the legendary swordsmith and father of protagonist Chihiro.
Kunishige stands at the heart of the manga's origin story. His peaceful days training his son to follow in his footsteps are shattered by tragedy, setting Chihiro on a path of vengeance with the enchanted blade Enten in hand. Seki's casting brings experienced gravitas to this foundational figure just as the adaptation builds momentum.
Produced by Cypic with Tetsuya Takeuchi directing and Keigo Sasaki on character designs, the series stars Taihi Kimura as Chihiro Rokuhira. It is scheduled to premiere in April 2027. Early footage of the first episode's opening 20 minutes will screen during a world tour of events kicking off this July at Anime Expo and other international conventions.
Seki shared his excitement about the role, expressing happiness at joining a story beloved by so many fans and his commitment to capturing the manga's raw passion and emotional depth in a way only anime can deliver. With the manga surpassing four million copies in circulation and strong critical buzz, anticipation for the anime continues to grow.
