Dodge Danko Ignites July Screens with Main Visual and 18 New Cast

The television anime of Tetsuhiro Koshita's Honō no Tōkyūjo: Dodge Danko has dropped its main visual alongside a massive batch of 18 new cast members, heating up anticipation for the July 6 debut on Tokyo MX, BS11, and MBS.

A direct sequel to the 1990s dodgeball legend Honō no Tōkyūji Dodge Danpei, the series follows Danko Ichigeki, daughter of the original hero, as she revives her school's struggling team in the Reiwa era with the same unyielding spirit. The new visual captures the high-energy rivalries and over-the-top action that defined the franchise while introducing a fresh generation of players.

Additional cast announcements cover the rival squads in full: St. Arrows, Tosa Attackers, US Buffaloes, and Black Armors. Standouts include Yūki Wakai, Yuka Iguchi, Azusa Tachibana and more for St. Arrows; Satomi Akesaka, Serika Hiromatsu and others for Tosa Attackers; Fairouz Ai as Zoe; and Mariya Ise, Marina Inoue for Black Armors. Returning leads feature Manaka Nakayama as Danko and Noriko Hidaka reprising Danpei in flashback and narration roles.

Hiroshi Ikehata directs at studio CUE with series scripts by Kazuho Hyōdō and character design by Narihito Sekikawa. Momoiro Clover Z performs the opening “Kaishin no Ichigeki” while i☆Ris handles the ending “Welcome to Azatosa World.” The announcement underscores how legacy properties continue to find new life through passionate revivals and stacked voice lineups.
