Synopsis
The Matsuno household is largely made up of six identical brothers: egocentric leader Osomatsu, masculine Karamatsu, sensible Choromatsu, cynical Ichimatsu, energetic Juushimatsu, and charming Todomatsu. Even though each of them is over 20 years old, they are extremely lazy and lack any drive to find employment, opting instead to exist as NEETs. When they rarely attempt to search for work and somehow secure an interview, their distinct personalities typically result in immediate rejection. From attempting to find girlfriends to seeking the perfect job, the Matsuno brothers' daily routines are never boring as they experience all sorts of wild, often completely absurd escapades. Though they earnestly try to improve their social position, it will stay out of reach if they cannot handle the various challenges that come with being sextuplets!
Background
Osomatsu-san was made to commemorate the 80th birthday of the series' late original creator, Fujio Akatsuka. A parody of Anpanman, a popular kids anime, in the third episode was reanimated following complaints to the network, while the first episode, due to the fact that it contained multiple parodies, has been pulled entirely from streaming sites and the Japanese Blu-Ray release.
