Synopsis
In a distant future, the very concept of warfare has been transformed. "Objects"—enormous, spherical tanks impervious to conventional weapons and equipped with devastating firepower—dominate the battlefield; their mere presence guarantees victory, rendering traditional armies obsolete. But this new paradigm of combat is about to be upended. Qwenthur Barbotage, a student specializing in Object Design, and Havia Winchell, a noble-born radar analyst, are stationed with the Legitimate Kingdom's 37th Mobile Maintenance Battalion, tasked with supporting the Baby Magnum, one of their nation's Objects. When a battle goes wrong, the pair find themselves in a dire situation: unarmored infantry facing the overwhelming might of an enemy Object. As they struggle to save themselves and their comrades, a spark of hope emerges, and the world's understanding of Objects is forever altered. Heavy Object follows these two soldiers, along with Milinda Brantini, the pilot of the Baby Magnum, and their commanding officer Frolaytia Capistrano, as their unit travels across the globe, engaging in one conflict after another. Confronted by an endless series of impossible odds, they must rely on every ounce of their intelligence and bravery to overcome the seemingly invincible foes that are Objects.
Background
Several characters from Heavy Object are slated to appear in the sequel to the arcade fighting game Dengeki Bunko Fighting Climax.
