Synopsis

In high school, Wakana Gojou devotes himself to perfecting the craft of making hina dolls, aspiring to one day match his grandfather's expertise. While his classmates immerse themselves in popular culture, Gojou finds satisfaction in creating outfits for his dolls, a hobby he keeps hidden out of fear of being mocked. Marin Kitagawa, a striking and self-assured young woman, enters Gojou's life. Her confident demeanor and popularity stand in sharp contrast to Gojou's shy and reclusive existence. Despite their apparent differences, fate intervenes when Kitagawa discovers Gojou's exceptional sewing skills and reveals her own passion for cosplay. Lacking proficiency with a needle, she asks for Gojou's help. Through their joint efforts on numerous cosplay projects, Gojou and Kitagawa bridge the gap between their contrasting lifestyles, gradually forming a bond.

In "My Dress-Up Darling Season 2," Marin Kitagawa has drawn Wakana Gojou deeper into the world of cosplay, where he now excels at crafting her costumes. Still, much remains for him to learn, and each new project deepens his passion for sewing and making hina dolls—a skill inherited from his grandfather. At the same time, Kitagawa struggles to hide her growing feelings for Gojou. Their interactions often lead others—friends and acquaintances alike—to assume they are a couple, which makes Gojou uneasy. He believes their vastly different lifestyles make a romantic relationship unlikely. Yet, as Gojou spends more time with Kitagawa and sees that his hobbies are met with acceptance rather than ridicule, the idea of a relationship begins to feel less impossible.
