Synopsis
The attack of a savage, prehistoric-sized African elephant makes global headlines. In the aftermath coverage, the sole survivor of one of its rampages credits the animal's death to a lone, unarmed man—unaware that he is describing Yuujirou Hanma, known as the "Ogre" and often called the "strongest creature on Earth." Meanwhile, Yuujirou's 18-year-old son Baki trains against an equally dangerous creature: a praying mantis. Satisfied with his training and determined to surpass his father, Baki kidnaps American President George Bosch to initiate his plans. This results in his intentional imprisonment at the notorious Arizona State Prison, where Oliva Biscuit resides—the strongest man in the United States and an inmate free to leave whenever he wishes. Hoping to test his own abilities, Baki challenges Oliva to a fight; however, Oliva is distracted by his eccentric rival, Jun Guevaru. Known as the "Second," he is the only other prisoner who receives special privileges from the guards. Confused but intrigued, Baki learns about his fellow inmates and endures the brutal conditions of prison life while waiting for the right opportunity.
