Aura: Koga Maryuin's Last War

Synopsis

Ichirou Satou, a typical high school student, used to pretend he was a hero named "Maryuuin Kouga" during middle school, which got him bullied frequently. Now that he has moved past that embarrassing phase, he tries hard to blend in and enjoy a quiet life, even though he finds the world rather boring. One night, while returning to school to pick up a forgotten textbook, he encounters a strange girl in a costume. That girl, Ryouko Satou, is his classmate and suffers from the same condition he once had—clinging to a delusion that she is someone else and dressing up to match it. The next day, Ichirou's teacher asks him to befriend Ryouko, but he firmly refuses, not wanting to be reminded of his own past. However, when he sees her being bullied just as he once was, he decides it is his responsibility to look after her and help her break free from the same affliction that once troubled him—a perfect mission for Maryuuin Kouga.
