Synopsis
A classic Chinese story called Tu Tze-chun follows a young man who gains great wealth after discovering hidden treasure, only to squander everything through a life of excess and luxury. This rendition is specifically an adaptation of Ryuunosuke Akutagawa's version, titled Toshishun; Akutagawa is regarded as the "father of Japanese short stories," and Japan's most prestigious literary honor, the Akutagawa Prize, bears his name.
