Synopsis
From the moment of her birth, it was evident that Mazu was unlike ordinary people. She neither cried nor fussed, and she carried the protections of the primordial spirit. When a jellyfish-like monster from the sea attempted to harm the newborn Mo Niang, the spirit manifested and drove it away. During the struggle, the jellyfish monster knocked over a candlestick, setting the curtains on fire. Although the family quickly extinguished the flames, the incident terrified Mo Niang, leaving her with a deep-seated fear of fire from that point on.
