Synopsis
In 2019, after a US uprising triggered a global nuclear war, humanity suffered the Maelström catastrophe. Fifty years later, the WHO has consolidated global political power to preserve the species, redefining society where people are public resources guaranteed happiness through advanced medicine, nanomachines, and augmented reality. Miach Mihie, a Japanese high schooler, opposes these dehumanizing values and plans to suicide with friends Tuan Kirie and Cian Reikadou before her WatchMe implant activates at eighteen. Cian betrays the pact, leading to Miach’s declared death and Tuan’s survival. Thirteen years later, Tuan, now a senior Helix inspector affiliated with the WHO, is recalled to Japan by Oscar Stauffenberg after her drug smuggling in the Niger warzone is exposed. Upon returning, she faces a wave of simultaneous suicides and is tasked with investigating the attack and identifying the terrorist group responsible.

Harmony won the Platinum Grand Prize at the 2016 Future Film Festival held in Italy. The film has been dubbed in English, French, German, Italian, and Russian. It was released on Blu-ray and DVD by Funimation on September 6, 2016 in North America and by Anime Limited on November 7. 2016 in the UK.
