Synopsis
Nuclear tests cause the sudden evolution of the Fumoon, a minuscule yet extremely intelligent humanoid species inhabiting a tiny island. Dr. Yamadano discovers them, but aside from a few witnesses—detective Shinsaku Ban, the youths Rock and Kenichi, and Kenichi’s sister Pichi (Pinoko)—nobody believes his claims. The Fumoon are abducting animals worldwide, loading them onto spaceships to flee Earth, as they know a cloud of black gas from a stellar explosion will soon engulf and destroy the planet. Planning to leave humanity behind, the Fumoon are opposed by one of their own, Rokoko, who befriends Kenichi. Rokoko helps Dr. Yamadano and the others, aided by Dr. Ochanomizu and Dr. Frankenstein, to build a spaceship that might allow a handful of humans to survive.
