Synopsis
After consuming a peculiar flower, Chocotan, a miniature dachshund, acquires the gift of speech. Since that moment, the enthusiastic puppy has offered her young owner, Nao Hatori, unwavering support. The pair frequently stroll to the park, hoping to cross paths with Hatori’s crush, Yamato Arima, and his dachshund, Happy. However, during one such meeting, Arima is sidetracked by his female classmates, which pushes Hatori out of the conversation. Compounding the situation, Chocotan loses her voice, leaving her unable to comfort her heartbroken owner. Even so, Chocotan’s deep devotion inspires Hatori to find the bravery to acknowledge her true emotions.

Chocotan! premiered on April 6 at Ribon magazine's Ribon Festa 2013. On April 30, 2013, Shogakukan-Shueisha Productions uploaded the short to their YouTube channel for free streaming.
