Synopsis
Lee Myeongyi has dealt with pneumothorax—a collapsed lung—for his entire life. He resents the unwanted attention at school caused by his loud hyperventilating episodes, prolonged coughing fits, and his exemption from gym class as well as military service. Whether facing his classmates' curiosity or resentment, Myeongyi constantly feels like an outsider. Yet class president Han Seonho frequently shows him kindness and understanding, and with his considerate manner and handsome appearance, he becomes Myeongyi's first crush. Nine years later, Myeongyi goes to his high school reunion with a single goal: to see Han Seonho once more. He clings to a faint hope about Seonho's feelings for him—but the bright gold ring on Seonho's left hand and their classmates' probing questions crush that hope quickly. Making an excuse to step outside for a smoke, despite his lung condition, Myeongyi is followed by Seonho. Unexpectedly, this moment sparks the start of their secret affair.

Hyperventilation Special was included in the official DVD release on October 5, 2018. Later, it was releashed on Vimeo along with the whole series on September 4, 2022.
