Synopsis
By 2061, the Network society has existed for half a century. Initially hailed as a path to a utopian consciousness-linked existence, it soon brought issues like data breaches and misinformation. Despite these flaws, humanity remained dependent on the Network. A more secure platform called Meta Real Network, or "the Metal," emerged, integrating personal memories into protected virtual spaces known as bubble shells. Within this secure environment, individuals began to unleash their hidden instincts, causing their consciousnesses to drown in information and desire. This created a stark contrast with the regulated real world, leading to unpredictable aberrations. To investigate these anomalies deep within the Metal, experts known as cyber divers were deployed. The story follows Masamichi Haru, a cyber diver who explores the incidents occurring in the space between Reality and the Metal.
