Synopsis
Seishuu Handa is a rising calligrapher who is young, good-looking, skilled—and also painfully self-absorbed. When an older master dismisses his award-winning work as lacking originality, Seishuu loses his temper and faces serious consequences. As punishment, and to encourage some self-reflection, his father sends him to the remote Goto Islands, far removed from the comfortable Tokyo life the hotheaded artist knows so well. Thrust into a rural environment, Seishuu must seek fresh inspiration and cultivate his own distinctive style—if only boisterous kids (led by the energetic Naru Kotoishi), fujoshi middle schoolers, and lively old men would stop barging into his home! The latest member of the close-knit and eccentric Goto community simply wants to get some work done, but the islands are nothing like the peaceful countryside he expected. Thanks to his nosy neighbors who have no sense of personal boundaries, the conceited calligrapher ends up learning far more than he ever imagined.
