Synopsis
On September 3, TAKARA TOMY A.R.T.S revealed plans to develop merchandise and media centered on a new character called Japanda, accompanied by an animated short. The character was designed by Ryou Taniguchi, who served as the designer for the official mascots of the Tokyo 2020 Olympic and Paralympic Games. Aimed primarily at women in their late teens and twenties, the company intends to launch a range of products including plush dolls, apparel, and capsule toys for Japanda beginning in spring 2020.
