Synopsis
During the Bakumatsu period, young men burned with anxiety over their country's future. Takasugi Shinsaku, a mercenary from Choshu, boards a government ship alongside his ally Katsura Kogorou to hunt down a mysterious "timepiece" capable of manipulating time—an artifact he suspects the government intends to keep for itself. Rather than let such power fall into the wrong hands, Takasugi aims to destroy it. But after securing the device, it is quickly stolen, forcing the duo to pursue the unknown thief to the government seat in Kyoto. Upon arriving in the capital, they discover the government has been overthrown and the deity Susanoo now rules in its place. The city's streets and its people have changed far beyond what Takasugi and Katsura remember. Though the times have shifted, their mission remains unchanged: they resolve to reset time and save their nation from the sinister forces attempting to hijack it.
