Synopsis
Nobita Nobi is an elementary schooler who despises academics, lacks athletic skill, and approaches tasks with little effort. Often bullied, unfortunate, and timid, his character flaws lead to a bleak future that even impacts his descendants. Consequently, his great-great-grandson, Sewashi, intervenes to change Nobita’s fate. Sewashi travels from the 22nd century to the 20th to meet Nobita, who is stunned when Sewashi emerges from his desk drawer accompanied by a blue robotic cat. The cat introduces himself as Doraemon, explaining that Sewashi coerced him into helping Nobita with the aim of ensuring his happiness. Disappointed by Nobita’s dire situation, Doraemon attempts to return to the future, but Sewashi activates a built-in program that prevents him from leaving. Bound to the past, Doraemon assists Nobita using advanced gadgets stored in his four-dimensional pocket. The question remains whether Doraemon can secure Nobita’s happiness and finally go back to the future.
