Synopsis
This animated work draws from personal experience, depicting the harm a strict religious upbringing inflicts on a teenager who uncovers the bizarre and frightening truth lurking beneath fundamentalism. Raised in an ultra-religious setting from an early age, his environment compels him to conform to a strict and often illogical worldview. He eventually descends into madness, living tormented by guilt while clinging to every bit of false hope his religious community offers him. One day, he finds the courage to abandon his faith and comes to see that human existence is actually a far more complex experience than the black-and-white reality he was raised in. Through metaphors of signs and symbols, the animation highlights and describes the mental illness caused by the conservative church on the main character and shows how he finds his way out of his dire situation.
