Synopsis
Despite his orphaned upbringing, Nio Chirinu finds a sense of belonging as a waiter at his adoptive grandmother’s restaurant. However, this tranquility is short-lived when he and his sister Iroha are coerced into serving as bait to apprehend child abductors by Toshizou Hijikata and Souji Okita, two members of the notorious ronin group Miburo. Following this traumatic event, Toshizou invites Nio to join Miburo and help safeguard the citizens of Kyoto. Driven by frustration over his own frailty, Nio undergoes rigorous training to equal the swordsmanship of his new peers. Yet, he continues to face difficulty gaining the respect of Tarou Tanaka and Hajime Saitou, the other Miburo members his age. In his determination to forge friendships with them, Nio must uncover his personal code of justice and grow powerful enough to overcome every adversary he faces.
