Synopsis
What defines happiness? As a psychology enthusiast, high school student Ritsu Shikishima often contemplates such questions while enjoying tranquil days alongside his companions. Yet his flawless world begins to crack when he detects a strange voice buried in static, urgently calling for aid. This voice belongs to μ, a cherished pop star whose songs start distorting reality. Before Ritsu's eyes, the faces of his friends and family warp with digital glitches as μ's melody turns them into Digiheads—raging monsters determined to eradicate anyone awakening to their true predicament. Realizing he is imprisoned within a simulated realm called Mobius, crafted by μ, Ritsu must assemble others who have also recognized the deception before they are wiped out. Uniting, they harness newfound abilities and weapons born from their emotions—the Catharsis Effect—to battle the enigmatic Ostinato Musicians while striving to break free.
