Synopsis

Continues the story of Pokémon the Movie: I Choose You!

On his tenth birthday, Satoshi oversleeps and ends up with a feisty Pikachu instead of the starter Pokémon he had wanted. Although their partnership starts off rough, Satoshi and Pikachu eventually become inseparable allies. Inspired by a fleeting glimpse of the legendary Houou soaring through the sky, they set out on a quest to find it, following the trail of the Rainbow Wing it left behind. Makoto and Souji also join Satoshi on this adventure. During their travels, Satoshi rescues an abandoned Hitokage, helps a Caterpie evolve into a Butterfree before setting it free to follow its own path, and encounters the enigmatic mythical Pokémon Marshadow. As they draw closer to their goal, they face off against the overconfident Cross, who is revealed to be Hitokage’s former trainer. Will Satoshi and Pikachu overcome Cross and fulfill their promise to meet Houou, or will their journey come to an abrupt halt?

In pursuit of his dream to become a Pokémon Master, Ash travels to Fura City for the Wind Festival. Determined to win the Get Race, Ash and Pikachu compete against Kagachi, a braggart who enters the race at his niece Lily’s insistence. Despite having little knowledge about Pokémon, Kagachi makes a deal with the introverted scientist Torito for help with his public speaking. Following Kagachi's victory, Ash meets Risa, a former sprint champion aiming to catch a Pokémon. However, during Torito's speech, Team Rocket invades the lab and steals a vital capsule, causing the Sacred Flame of the Wind Festival to disappear and leading to a series of calamities. Ash and his friends set out on a journey to unravel the mystery, encountering several people along the way, including Zeraora, the supposedly extinct Thunderclap Pokémon.
