

Synopsis
Sachi Koyama is a high school violinist with notable talent who enjoys her school life and friendships in the music club. Her favorite activity, however, is taking solitary walks to the bus stop in Iwaki, Fukushima, where she admires the local scenery. During one such walk, she unexpectedly encounters Yuusuke Kijinami, a boy she usually sees on her commute. Sachi offers to help him find the ideal spot to capture the evening landscape for his art club exhibition. The two connect through their shared appreciation of the sunset-lit views. This chance meeting unites two individuals who wish to savor the present moment, fully aware of its fleeting nature.
Background
Hakubo is the final installment in Yutaka Yamamoto's Tohoku Trilogy, a series of films produced to aid in the restoration efforts following the 2011 Tohoku earthquake and tsunami. The charity project was intended to be crowd-funded, but the campaign did not raise the funds it was aiming for.
