
Synopsis
In the 1960s, a brilliant young medical student strives to carve out his own reputation. Kuroo Hazama is a quiet man with distinctive black-and-white hair, a body marked by scars, and a mysterious, painful history. Though still a student, his exceptional surgical skill draws notice after he successfully performs an operation deemed impossible. Accompanied by the earnest and candid intern Maiko Okamoto and Yabu, a close companion facing his own struggles, Hazama dedicates himself to the medical field. Yet his road to becoming a respected surgeon is fraught with obstacles as student protests, warfare, and corruption plague Japan. Hazama soon becomes entangled in a series of sinister situations that test his personal ethics and his ambition to become a surgeon. Young Black Jack follows the tale of a man capable of extraordinary medical achievements and the path that transforms him into the legendary figure known as Black Jack.
