Synopsis
Taeko Okajima is a 27-year-old, independent woman who has lived her whole life in Tokyo. Seeking a break from the city's hectic pace, she decides to visit her relatives in the countryside to assist with the harvest. On the train ride there, Taeko vividly relives her memories as a schoolgirl going through early puberty, as if she is traveling alongside her younger self. A young farmer named Toshio picks her up at the station, and they quickly form a friendship. During her stay, Taeko builds deep connections with family and friends, discovering the differences between urban and rural living, as well as the hardships and rewards of farming. Filled with nostalgia and bittersweetness, Omoide Poroporo follows Taeko's journey as an adult woman reconciling her childhood dreams with the person she has become.
