Synopsis
The story follows in the tradition of manga like Doraemon and Obake no Q-Taro, as the alien Ganmo—who looks like a chicken wearing sneakers—sets out to help his human friend Hanpeita. The series tracks the duo’s antics as they land in the middle of plenty of comedic mischief. One morning, Tsukune Tsukuda spitefully releases her brother’s pet bird. Later she regrets it and comes home with an egg she found, planning to give it to her brother Hanpeita. Hanpeita is not very happy with the large, strange-looking egg. Meanwhile, the egg swells up, cracks open, and out comes a bizarre bird-like creature named Ganmo. He can speak like a human and moves in with the Tsukuda family. Not wanting to be a freeloader, Ganmo takes on chores like running errands and cleaning the house—but he messes up everything he tries. He then attempts to clear his reputation, but his efforts only cause more and more confusion. One day, a charming girl moves into the house next door to the Tsukudas. Her pet is a strange myna bird named Déjà-vu. It is dapper but has a sharp tongue, and it constantly teases Ganmo for his odd appearance. Thus, the world around Ganmo gets messier and messier.
