Synopsis
Ryouta Sakamoto is an unemployed young man living with his mother, whose sole notable accomplishment is being Japan's top player of the popular online game Btooom! His ordinary life takes a drastic turn when he awakens on a remote island with a small green crystal embedded in his left hand and no recollection of how he got there. To his horror, someone has turned the game he loves into a real-life death match. Each player is given a bag of unique bombs called "BIM" and must kill seven other participants, taking their green crystals, in order to return home. Though Ryouta initially rejects violence, he is forced to fight when he discovers that many of the other players are far from friendly. Joining forces with Himiko, another Btooom! player, the two work together to escape the island while slowly uncovering the sinister truth behind this deadly contest.
